WASHINGTON (TNND) — HBO political talk show host Bill Maher slammed far-left Democrats as more Democratic socialist candidates continue to run for office and win.
“This nonsense is not where most Democratic politicians are right now,” he said during a monologue. “But it’s also becoming a raging fire festival in the party that neither anyone is putting out.”
Earlier this week, progressive Democratic Michigan candidate Abdul El-Sayed won the primary for U.S. Senate.
Even though he isn’t a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, he has likened himself to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) and New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
In his monologue, Maher slammed Democratic Socialist Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong for saying she wants to live in a world without prisons.
“I mean, if you heard this kind of nonsense coming out of the mouth of a teenage beauty queen, it would be an eye roll,” he said.
He said that the Democratic Socialists of America want to get rid of the current U.S. government.
“I’m just gonna say it,” Maher said. “Since the far far left is overwhelmingly made up of affluent ultra-woke white people-you raised your kids wrong. You told your precious brats that every brain fart was genius and now these brain farts are becoming Democratic Party policy.
