U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is heading to El Paso.
The former presidential candidate will bring his “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here” tour to the Sun City on Monday, Oct. 19, according to his official website. Joining Sanders will be former El Paso Congressman Beto O’Rourke and U.S. Rep. Greg Casar, D-Texas.
The event will take place at the Abraham Chavez Theatre, 1 Civic Center Plaza, in Downtown El Paso. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the speaking program scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Those interested in attending can RSVP through Sanders’ website.
The nationwide tour focuses on economic inequality, the concentration of wealth and the influence of corporations and wealthy individuals on American politics.
“I’ll be hitting the road to have real discussions across America on how we move forward to take on the Oligarchs and corporate interests who have so much power and influence in this country,” Sanders writes on his website.
El Paso is among several stops Sanders has scheduled over the next week, including appearances in Florida and Texas.
